Living in Damascus was not always easy, we learned to deal with the dictatorship. On the outside of the book you see black pages with the president’s lies, we had to learn in school. Inside you see the peaceful everyday life we created to survive. Through the arab spring we broke out of the everyday illusion to begin again.
